2015:Court orders 37 defected PDP House of Reps members to resign

The 37 PDP House of Representatives members who defected to APC in December 2013 have been ordered to vacate their seats and the House.

Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court in Abuja gave the order today while delivering judgment in a suit filed against the defected lawmakers by the PDP. The judge said the lawmakers no longer had any business, morally and legally in the Assembly and so should resign.

"Having perused the arguments of counsel and the constitutional provisions, it is clear and unambiguous that the defendants were sponsored by the PDP and won the election on its platform. It is also the court’s opinion that their tenure has not expired and there is no division in the PDP.

“The defendants are, therefore, not competent to vote or contribute to any proceedings in the House of Representatives. An order of perpetual injunction is, hereby, ordered, restraining them from altering or attempting to change the leadership of the House of Reps,” Justice Ademola said.

In January 2014, PDP instituted a suit against the defected lawmakers who attempted to cause an alteration in the leadership of the House of Representative.

Prince William, Duchess Catherine, Prince George, and the family dog Lupo all posed for their first official portrait together yesterday Saturday March 29 … and  boy has Prince George grown so much since we last saw him! The young prince is wearing a blue sweater with “George” stitched on the front as he sits in his mother’s arms and locks eyes with Lupo. The photo was taken from a window seat of the Royal Family’s home, Kensington Palace.
Prince George has largely been kept out of the public eye since his July 2013 birth and his christening last October.

Suspected fraudster Fred Ajudua denied bail....

An Ikeja High court this morning denied suspected fraudster Fred Ajudua's bail application and has ordered that he be remanded in Kirirkiri prison. Ajudua had applied for bail to seek medical attention outside the prison.

 

Delivering her judgement, Justice Khudirat Jose said according to medical reports presented by LUTH & attached to his bail application, he'd been treated for enlarged prostrate gland, hypertension and traumatic Haematuria sometime in August 2013 and there was no where in the report that stated he could not be treated in prison for any ailment. She also added that Ajudua had failed to convince her that he would neither abscond during the trial period nor interfere with witnesses if he is granted bail.

 

Fred Ajudua is standing trial for defrauding two dutch businessmen of $1.69million and former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi, of  about $8.395m. The case was adjourned to April 28th.

"People misunderstands what polygamy means. I am an ardent supporter of polygamy. Every single man, mostly from Africa, is polygamous in nature. We are just deceiving ourselves. Polygamy means when you see a woman you love and desire, you marry her with the consent of your already married wife and bring her home. It's not when you have one wife at home, then you have others scattered in different other places, that is not polygamy. And not when you have three wives and you cannot take care of one, that is an insult to polygamy. There are so many women out there who just want to have a man as an umbrella, but we keep saying one man one woman. Yet the women keep suffering. We all know that we have much more women in this world than men, the ratio is too high.

My father had six wives, my uncle that brought me up had so many wives also. What I am saying is that it is not illegal, we are not in America. Ironically, the white man would have one wife and still keep so many mistresses. If not, there wouldn't have been an English word for concubines. That means it exists in their culture. Which is better, concubines or wives? In the days when polygamy was well respected, diseases were not rampant. It is now that when men hide to do it that strange sexually transmitted diseases have become the order of the day" he said.

The Miss SA 2014 pageant took place last night, Sun Mar 30 and beautiful 21 year old Rolene Strauss was announced the winner and ambassador of SA at the end of the day. Rolene is a proud Afrikaans lady from the Free State who is studying  to be a doctor. The finale was a glamorous event with musical acts like Mi Casa, Bucie and Matthew Mole. Apart from the platinum crown made by Jack Friedman jewellers, the winner also received a prize package worth R1.3m.
Rolene wrote this on her Facebook wall right after she was crowned: " Words can not describe how grateful I am for all your support. It means the world to have people believing in me and dreaming with me. Whatever the outcome, this is the end and also the beginning of a wonderful journey, thank you for living it with me."

Ellen did her part to urge her female viewers to sign up, saying “we’re all grateful for Obamacare.”

A known narcissist, Obama couldn’t conceal his bitterness toward Ellen for breaking his Twitter retweet record with her own star-studded Oscar Awards selfie.
“I heard about that. I thought it was a pretty cheap stunt myself — getting a lot of celebrities in the background, you feeding them pizza,” Obama groused when DeGeneres reminded him she had shattered his record for the most re-tweets.
Obama also discussed his recent shopping excursion to the GAP on 42nd Street in New York.
Obama said the sweaters he bought for his daughters were “pretty nice” – but he said the girls haven’t worn them yet.
“Malia and Sasha, they did not scowl when I brought them in, which was a good sign. They didn’t immediately say, ‘Ew that’s terrible,’” Obama said. “I have not yet seen them wear them but I’m hoping that I make the cut.”
The president is home alone while first lady Michelle Obama traveled to China with their daughters, Malia and Sasha. The China trip is one of numerous separate vacations the estranged couple has taken recently.
“The house is abandoned. I’m stuck with two dogs, and I am expected to walk them and do what you do when you walk dogs,” the president said, to virtual silence from the audience.

Oscar Pistorius is selling his home he killed girlfriend in .

Oscar Pistorius's lawyer revealed today that the paralympian is planning to sell the house in which he killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, to enable him raise money for his legal fees which has been rapidly increasing since the commencement of his trial.

Reports say with all advertising deals closed up and none in sight, Oscar has been grappling with raising money to pay his legal team. He has since been selling off some of his other properties and some of his racehorses.

A statement on his official website confirmed he is selling the house

"It has become necessary to sell Mr. Pistorius’ home in the Silver Woods Country Estate in Pretoria in order for him to raise the necessary funds to cover his increasing legal costs. This is due to the unexpected extension of the trial beyond the initial three weeks period for which it was originally set down".

The newly constituted National Conference Delegates want allowance for their aides.

 

 

 

 Some delegates of the newly constituted National Conference which had its first session yesterday in Abuja have asked for financial allowances to be made available to their aides who they say would help ease the burden of the task before them.

 

Each delegate is to collect N12million as incentive for participating in the confab which is expected to last for 3 months..but that money is not enough, they also want their PAs and drivers to be paid

"We need to know the number of aides we are to employ,” One of the delegates, Senator Mohammed Jibrin enquired from the leaders.

I see! However the secretary of the  Conference, Mrs. Valeria Azinge, said there was no provision for personal aides, informing them that the Federal Government had made provision for their accommodation, transportation and sitting allowances. Continue...

Meanwhile yesterday at the conference, Senator florence Ita Giwa told her fellow delegates that most of the problems facing Nigeria today was created by them.

"Most of the people here are the ones that created the problems in this country. We are also here to correct those mistakes and forge a new path for the country.”

Ita-Giwa cautioned the delegates against making frivolous demands, saying that after all, a majority of the delegates at the confab contributed to the problems the nation was facing now.

Ita-Giwa expressed concern at the formal sitting of the confab, maintaining that it was better for the delegates to sit down and work rather than demanding for all sorts of things which were not part of why they were there.

She told her colleagues that the essence of the conference was to address the problems facing the unity of the country.

“We are here to address the problems, we are responsible for most of the problems, and therefore we should sit down and do the work rather than asking government to do this or that.” She said

Australia finds 2 potential bits of missing Malaysian plane wreckage

Two pieces of wreckage that are possibly from the missing Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 - one estimated to be 78ft in size - have been found to the west of Australia, it was announced yesterday. The debris was spotted on satellite imagery and a total of four aircraft have been sent to investigate the sighting, some 1553 miles off the coast of Perth.
Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced the potential breakthrough to Parliament in Canberra Thursday, but warned the wreckage may not be from the missing flight. Continue...
 
 John Young of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority said at an afternoon press conference that one aircraft was already on scene searching the area, and three others were due to meet it into Thursday evening. A merchant ship dispatched in the search operation was also due to arrive around 6p.m. Canberra time.
The imagery, which was progressively captured by satellites passing over the area, has not yet been released to the media. Commercial satellites have been tasked with collecting higher resolution images of the floating objects.
Mr Young said visibility was poor in the area, hampering both air and satellite efforts and he estimated the water in the location where the debris was spotted to be several thousand feet deep. 'I must emphasize that these objects may be very difficult to locate,' he told reporters.

Nigerians in Germany protest against the Nigerian Govt

Nigerians in Germany yesterday March 10, protested against the Nigerian government financial recklessness and insecurity in the country. The protest took place on Neue Jakobstrasse, the street that lodges the Nigerian embassy.

Fliers which served as cahier de doleance were distributed to passers-by and the embassy callers. The fliers read:

“168 Million Nigerians are under siege. At the mercy of a reckless, fascist government that has made corruption its deadly official policy. The Nigerian people demand sanctions and travel bans on political officers and global attention to the economic terrorism. There are 100 million destitute Nigerians while government officials loot billions of US Dollars every year. We call for global attention to the crises to the largest African nation and a very important nation in Africa and the world. What affects one man, affects all men”.

The group of Nigerians also bore placards with messages like: 

‘It is easier to find a needle in a dark room than to find 20 Billion Dollars in Nigeria’; ‘Boko Haram kills innocent citizens, Nigerian government celebrates centenary. Hundreds of Nigerians (Including school children) dead within a week’

At the end of the protest, two Embassy officials also gave the assurance that the message of the protest will be conveyed to the government. 

The officials were also informed that plans are in top gear to mobilize for protest whenever the President and/or his wife are in Germany on their ritual medical trip.
